Exciting Updates on the Weep Series: Introducing "Slack Jaw" and Future Instalments

I'm thrilled to share some exciting updates with you. In this post, I'll provide a sneak peek into my latest book, "Slack Jaw," share feedback from beta readers, and discuss my plans for upcoming releases. So, let's dive in!

"Slack Jaw": A New Perspective on the Weep Universe

  1. "Slack Jaw," the next instalment in the Weep series, is set to release this summer. While it isn't a direct continuation of Fin's story from the previous book, "Weep," it offers a fresh perspective on the post-apocalyptic world. In "Slack Jaw," readers will be introduced to a new cast of characters, exploring their experiences and journeys in this ravaged landscape. Don't worry; Fin's story will continue in Feast and Famine.

Beta Reader Feedback: A Positive Outlook on a Post Apocalyptic World

  1. I'm incredibly grateful for the feedback received from my dedicated beta readers. Their insights have been invaluable in shaping the final version of "Slack Jaw." Overall, the response has been positive, highlighting the immersive world-building, engaging storytelling, and the anticipation for more Weep stories. While some readers were expecting a direct continuation of Fin's narrative, I believe this new perspective will offer a fresh and exciting angle to the series.

Introducing New Characters and Stories in the Weep Universe

  1. I understand the long wait between books can be tough for eager readers. To keep the momentum going, I have exciting plans for the upcoming months. In addition to working with my editor on finalising "Slack Jaw," I'm also drafting a contemporary romance novel under my pen name, E.P. Brady. This side project provides a refreshing change of pace. To bridge the gap between major releases, I'll be releasing two shorter stories set in the Weep universe. The first is "Frostbite," which follows a new character introduced in "Slack Jaw" and explores the outbreak that was covered up. This tale will shed light on significant events preceding the main series. The second story is smaller in scale and revolves around two young children who seek refuge in an old, forgotten graveyard, hiding from the infection that plagues their world. One of them carries the weeping sickness.

"Feast and Famine": Continuing Fin's Journey

  1. For all the fans eagerly awaiting the continuation of Fin's story, don’t worry! After the shorter stories, I will be diving back into Fin's perspective in the next major instalment, "Feast and Famine." In this book, we will join Fin as he navigates the wasteland of Ireland, encountering new challenges, alliances, and dangerous adversaries. The narrative will take us on a thrilling journey across the post-apocalyptic Irish landscape, putting the theory that there can be no innocent survivors, to the test.

Conclusion:

The Weep series continues to evolve, offering fresh perspectives, exciting new characters, and captivating storylines. "Slack Jaw" is just around the corner, ready to transport you to the post-apocalyptic world once again. Keep an eye out for updates on the release date, and don't forget to explore the intriguing shorter stories in A Ring of Oak and Apple that will bridge the gap between major instalments. As always, thank you for your continued support and enthusiasm for the Weep series—I couldn't do it without you!

Stay tuned for future blog posts, where I'll introduce you to the new cast of characters in "Slack Jaw" and delve deeper into the intricacies of the Weep universe.

I’m looking forward to celebrating the release of Slack Jaw soon.

Cheers!
