Slack Jaw Update

Things are wrapping up with Slack Jaw so I’ll give a quick update on the state of the story.

Zombie Series set in Ireland

Post Apocalyptic Book Series Weep Under Construction

Physical print edits are finished. I took a week off and now I’m going back to page one to input the changes. Viewing the story in a different way was beneficial, if only to my own eyes. Though, in the future, I can’t see myself doing it again, especially not on a project as large as Slack Jaw. I think there was only one page that went without some form of change. Might get that page framed. It will likely be another two weeks to input the corrections.

After this, it goes out to Alpha readers. Following those changes, it goes off to my editor. Then even more changes. Finally, publication. The pre-order should be up when I have a solid release date.

What’s Next for Weep?

The first act of Weep book 3 is drafted. I know where the story is going and I have a lot of scenes that I’m mad to write. My first ideas about the story that would become Weep pretty much all take place in this upcoming book.

I’ll work on sharpening the outline and a few scenes, but aside from that, the writing of the series has finished for now. For the rest of the year, my Weep focus will be entirely on marketing. Which is of no use to you if you’re already planning to read the book. Only half of my job is writing the actual story, the other half is trying to sell it and I’ve been slacking with the marketing.

Basil & Time

Writing-wise, as soon as I publish Slack Jaw, I’m going straight into drafting Basil & Time, a contemporary coffee shop romance. It’ll be half the size of Slack Jaw.

Coffee Shop Romance by Eoin Brady

Basil and Time Cover

Cliona lives in Dublin, working as a charity mugger on Grafton Street. Following news of her grandmother's stroke, she returns home. This could be the closure the family has guiltily waited for.

Evelyn has lived in a care facility since a degenerative disease robbed her of her memories and self. Cliona discovers that certain tastes and smells now bring back shoals of memory. Glimpses of the past conjured through her old recipes. Cliona brings the family together to rebuild meals and moments in the hope of being remembered. Failing that, she wants to reunite the family to make new ones.

Along the way, Cliona discovers a new passion for food and a fresh direction for her life. She also learns that there are some memories we’re only too glad to forget.

Secrets, love and self-discovery - it’s a little different to my usual feral, weeping banshee stuff. I’ve been excited about it for some time now. The aim is to have a clean draft by the end of this year. I’ll publish it under a pen name.

Work on Weep starts up again in January.
